Church notes: Some churches resuming in-person activities

Benton County

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., continues to suspend Sunday worship services, church activities, and events in the church building through May 31.

BVCC resumes worship services beginning at 5 p.m. June 6 (traditional); at 9 a.m. June 7 (traditional); and at 11 a.m. (contemporary). Kids Connect and nursery are not available during the month of June.

Please call the church office to let us know which service you plan to attend. Limited seating is available due to social distancing guidelines. You may still watch or listen to sermons online during the week.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., will hold one worship service at 9:30 a.m. May 31. This is a Unity Service and is also the service when the confirmands declare their Christian faith. Social distancing is always practiced.

Starting in June, the church will again have two worship services. One is at 8:30 a.m. (traditional) and one at 10:45 a.m. (blended). Social distancing is always practiced.

The Bella Vista Nine-Holers are again playing. This group consists of singles and couples. For information, contact Bill Scholten at 855-1324.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is again open on Fridays from 10 a.m. until noon. This is a drive-up service.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is holding a multi-city food drive to benefit local food pantries.

Canned and non-perishable food items will be accepted, as will personal hygiene items.

The food drive will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. June 5 and 9 a.m. to noon June 6 at the following church building locations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

• 1101 McCollum Drive, Bentonville

• 950 Seba Road, Centerton

• 1 Lambeth Drive, Bella Vista

• 2805 N. Dixieland Drive, Rogers

• 6738 Lynch's Prairie Cove, Springdale

• 806 W. Freeman Avenue, Berryville

To help keep donors and staff safe, the food drive will be drive through. To donate to the drive, participants will simply drive up, open their trunks, and volunteers will take the donation in a socially distanced approved manner.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., is worshiping online Sundays at 10:15 a.m. on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/fpc.bentonville.

The FPC Food Pantry is operating as a drive-through on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Please bring something (utility bill, etc.) that shows that you are a resident of Benton County, and the church is glad to serve you.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., will host the Community Blood Center of Missouri for the next blood drive from 1o a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8 in Fellowship Hall.

For everyone's protection, church members and other area residents must make an appointment in order to donate blood. Masks are required. The need is great as blood donations in our area are down during this time of social distancing. Please call the church office to reserve a time.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County, 1400 W. Walnut, No. 113, Rogers, has canceled Sunday services until further notice.

Those who wish may attend worship services of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fayetteville (UUFF) via Zoom with a link found on uufayetteville.org. The May 31 UUFF service features "And Still We Rise" with guest Raven Cook.

Washington County

First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, will livestream Sunday morning services at 10:30 a.m. on YouTube or on the website at fpcspringdale.org. At 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, weekly Zoom Discipleship Classes continue for adults and for the FPC Kids B.L.A.S.T. program. Both are available on the website to all.

FPC Springdale and Ferncliff Summer Camp are joining forces to provide an at-home camp-in-a-box experience June 15-19. Camp-in-a-Box is designed for kindergarten through fifth- or sixth-graders. Each box provides five days' worth of activities that are screen-free, encourage outdoor activity and minimize demands on parents. Register your children by June 1 at [email protected]. Send children's names, addresses and email addresses. Optional Zoom meetings each day are a way to further connect.

Summer Evening Vespers will begin at 6:30 p.m. June 14 on the south lawn of the FPC campus. They will offer a socially distanced but in-person evening opportunity to sing live music, pray together, hear a meditative word and find time to rest in the presence of God and one another.

At 6 p.m. June 7 there will be a Family Game Night via Zoom. Participants will team up to play a "Family Feud" type game. The link to the Zoom meeting will be on the website: www.fpcspringdale.org.
