Wrestling in Northwest Arkansas might be relatively young when compared with states like Oklahoma, but some girls from Rogers and Bentonville West made a splash recently at the Supergirl 64 tournament in Tulsa.

Dalani Hornbuckle of Rogers, the defending 6A state champion at 105 in Arkansas, won her weight class at the Supergirl tournament. But she wasn't alone. Lady Mountie teammates Anna Dux (third) and Heidi Benefield (fourth) also placed.

Rogers Coach Willie Wright said he took a larger group to the event last year, but took just three this year and all three placed.

Wright said Hornbuckle has bounced back strong after a hiccup at the Bring The Hammer tournament in Cabot. She finished second, falling in the finals to a competitor from Fort Scott, Kan.
